NEW COURSES TO BE ANNOUNCED IN LATE JULY 2008.

Perhaps the biggest issue facing many documentary filmmakers and producers is how to finance your film. The Insider's Guide to Financing Documentaries, is a great way of getting a leading experts advice on how to find finance. The course takes place over a day and is led by producer Rachel Wexler, who has a string of commissions from the BBC and international broadcasters and organisations. Like all Insider's courses, lunch and refreshments are included so it also serves as a great networking opportunity.

The current interest in feature-length documentaries provides doc makers and producers with both an opportunity and a challenge. Although more financiers are interested, the feature-length format is notoriously difficult to structure. Our Project Development - Feature Documentaries course helps doc makers through this process by offering detailed feedback on your project as well as referring to and analysing key feature docs.

Another way of getting feedback on your project is through our Project Development - Work in Progress for Documentary Filmmakers course. We've run this twice at the OXDOX festival and had great feedback. The format allows for 2 or 4 expert documentary filmmakers to give one-to-one feedback on your project.

Docmakers and producers who want more in-depth consultancy and expert coaching and tuition about international finance should look at our Interdoc Producer's Lab. Interdoc builds on the Insider's Guide to Financing Documentaries by offering feedback on your project from an array of experts on financing structures, pre-sales, development funds, sales agreements, distribution contracts and pitching and promos. The first edition of this lab had great feedback and resulted in secured finance for several participants. The next lab will run in September 2008 (application deadline 1 August).
