Initialize's new lab on Online Marketing, Financing and
Distribution for Films is now taking applications. The lab,
which is backed by Skillset, Google, Profero, 01 Zero One,
Lecote, Pias, Red Sky and Content Republic, is the UK's
leading in-depth, project-based programme about the practical
realities of financing and distributing films online. More

application deadline is 9 August 2008.

INTERDOC, the training lab that helped finance The English
Surgeon, the feature-length documentary film directed
by Geoffrey Smith which went on to win the top prizes at
Hot Docs' (Best International Feature) and Silverdocs, is
now taking applications. For more information about the
lab, which takes place in September and October 2008, and
is backed by UK Film Council through Skillset, click here.
The application deadline is 1 August 2008.

Initialize lab participants had a number of feature films
premiered in May and June 2008. Mouth to Mouth, produced
by Anne Beresford and featuring Oscar-winner Ellen Page
opened at the Empire Leicester Square on 9 May; Sarah Sulick's
The Waiting Room, starring Anne-Marie Duff and Ralph
Little, was released at the end of May; producer Samm Haillay's
Better Things was screened in the International Critics
Week at Cannes; and producer Charlie Bowden recently launched
the DVD of her film South Coast going live on 21
May. Congratulations also to Richard Staniforth, a participant
on our co-production lab, on winning a Welsh BAFTA for his
feature film Calon Gaeth.
