Writers Meet Producers / Producers Meet Writers
This is a one-day meet-market where up to 15 screenwriters
meet up to 15 producers in a series of one to one meetings
to encourage networking and colloboration on projects. The
day also features a lecture on contract issues.
The event gives writers the opportunity of meeting and
pitching to a large number of producers. Getting access
to producers is notoriously difficult and we aim to facilitate
this in a relaxed and convivial environment.
The event gives producers the opportunity of meeting talented
writers who might fall outside their "new talent radar",
without having to sift through thousands of scripts or take
hundreds of meetings.
The day consists of:
- one-to-one meetings between writers and producers;
- a lecture on contracts and working practices between writers
and producers from an industry expert;
- networking opportunities over lunch / post-workshop drinks
The next event takes place on 15 - 16 March 2008
in central London.
Applications
All candidates have to apply. This is to ensure that the
quality of the projects / experience of the producers meets
delegate expectations.
The application deadline is 1 February 2008.
Screenwriters
Screenwriters must send:
- a one page synopsis of their project (a feature project)
- a bio containing info on any training / credits they have
- a copy of their script (optional)
If a screenwriter prefers not to send in a script, they have to sign a declaration that they have a completed draft of their project.
Producers / development execs must send:
- a bio containing any producing / development credits
- a showreel (optional)

Price
The cost for the one-day event is £ 85. This includes
lunch, refreshments and materials.
