THE ENGLISH SURGEON (2009). Documentary Feature. Brain surgeon Dr. Henry Marsh travels to Ukraine to help his Russian counterpart save lives after being unable to save a young Ukrainian girl’s life earlier in his career. Marsh brings equipment from the UK to bolster resources, but can only save a small percentage of the patients he sees. Every operation is incredibly risky and we witness his struggles in the battle of life and death.
The film was awarded an Emmy at the 2010 News and Documentary Emmy Awards.
